On the Matching Summary, within the Constituent Area on the lower half of the screen, Primary Constituent is always present. The Primary Constituent is the main Constituent you are trying at add or update and is always the first area you need to map with building a template.

This can lead to some confusion when you have supplementary mappings in place, (such as Constituent Codes or Attributes) that are associated not with the Primary Constituent, but with a Relationship records.

The Constituent Area will always show the Primary Constituent as well as report on the values binging added in that mapping area. It does not show the record it is being added to, giving the impression that the value is being added to the Primary Constituent. However, it does show the Constituent mapping it is linked to in the upper half of the screen via the 'Linked To' column.
