You can create a rule in Validatrix to make sure that that all Appeals have a default Campaign, much like you can do if you wish to create a rule to ensure a Default Fund is applied to all Appeals.

The process for creating the rule is the same whether you wish to create a rule for Default Funds or default Campaigns, just the default Campaign is not called Default Campaign in the Select a Field's, list of Available Fields for Appeals. It is called 'Campaign ID'.

Simply start by creating your rule and selecting 'Appeal>Campaign ID'

Next, give it a sensible name in the Overview tab, and in the Criterion tab, select 'Apply when the record agrees with the criteria' and set the criteria to 'is blank'.

Then fill in the rest of the tabs as is your common practice. For example, we set-up a Realtime Validation that prevents a user from completing the save, along with an error message, if a Campaign is not marked as the default.
