When changing a full version i.e. from version 2 to 3, Audit Trail Classic must be upgraded in two place. On the server and and the client machine.

In this case the client machine i.e. the tracker and the plugins were upgraded but the server was not. The database table that stores the changes needs to be updated to include the "TopObjectType" column which is new to version 3.

You should run the Audit Trail Configuration application on the server (or run it so that it connects to the server but this requires sufficient user rights). If you are not able to run the Audit Trail Configuration application on the server then please get in touch and we may be able to provide a script to run inside of SQL Server Management Studio that will do a similar thing.
