If the total of split gifts does not match, you should first check to see if the numbers in your file do or do not line up as you may need to adjust your import file to ensure that you are adding correct information to the Raiser's Edge.
If you find that you need to increase the total gift amount to account for the discrepancy, you can use the field settings to resolve this exception.
On the primary gift mapping (not on the split mapping), open the field settings on the amount field.
At the bottom of the screen, select the option that allows you to adjust the gift total.
