Using the Name Parser, you can split a name field into the corresponding parts (ie if the field in your file contains "Mr. John Smith" and you want to assign "Mr." to the title field, "John" to the first name and "Smith" to the Last Name/Surname field).


For example, in your import file, the name is formatted like this:


But, you need it to be formatted like this to assign the information to the correct fields in the Raiser's Edge:


The Name Parser is available for the primary Constituent as well as for Individual Relationships, Solicitor Relationships and Tribute records.  You can find it on the Area Settings for these mappings.  To access it, you will first need to save a Constituent mapping and then you can access the Constituent Area Settings

Please note that this is also available for those organisations with the Tribute destination to help when this issue affects the creation of a Honor/Memorial Constituent record as well as those with the Individual Relationship data destination and those with the Solicitor/Canvassor data destination.
