While we are working to help make errors like this "Error reported from RE on saving the record from the area map "Constituent". The reported error was: Invalid Code table entry: Type" more user friendly, sometimes they will still come from Raiser's Edge while importing via Importacular.
If you have already checked the Address Mapping for the Type, you should also check the Address Area Settings. If you have opted to Back up the Preferred Address, you will see this error if the Address type was left blank.
