It is possible to import parent data from iSAMS. In iSAMS, parents can have separate records or joint records. Where they are joint it means that they are married or living together. If they have their own individual records, it means that the parents are separated or divorced.

In order to link the parents to each other in a relationship if they are not divorced, you will need to follow the below steps:

In iSAMS, the contacts have a new flag to say if they are joint contact records or not. You can use this flag to create relationships where appropriate. 


You will need to set up a linked relationship mapping and add a rule on the linked record type to say 'do not assign this value if the joint record type value is false'. This is shown below.




If it is any value other than 'Yes' then the link relationship will be set to ignore.
