When a code table is merged with another code table entry in the Configuration section of the Raiser's Edge 7 (also known as database view), you will see the updates for affected fields in the Audit Trail viewer.
For example, if a record has a Constituency of 'Supporter', but that code was merged into the code of 'Friend", a change would be triggered on the gift and you would see this in the viewer like this:
