Because Importacular allows you to check Raiser's Edge for relationship matches while importing, you can use it in order to upgrade non-constituent records into constituent records.  As relationship imports are not included with the free version, this functionality does require use of the respective relationship import tool (Individual or Organisation).

Click here to watch a sample of how this can be done.

When you're upgrading non-constituent relationships into constituent relationships, you'll be working with data that you know is already in Raiser's Edge, so you can create your data file directly from Raiser's Edge (using either Query or Export).  You can use information such as the Constituent ID to ensure that you link directly to the records that you want to change.

Once you have your file, you can work with your template in order to add whatever information you would like to see on the record that is being converted from a non-constituent record to a constituent record.  You will need to ensure that you link mappings to the record that you are converting into a constituent and not the existing constituent.

The Area Settings allow you to match the data in your import file to data that is already in Raiser's Edge and give you the option to convert matched non-constituent relationships into constituent relationships.

When you run the process, if the non-constituent relationships do not match exactly to the information in Raiser's Edge, you can use the Criteria Sets in order to adjust your match settings.
