If your Data Source (one of our partners or Excel file) contains Event Participants for more than one Event, you do not need to separate them in order to import the data, but you will need to build your template carefully to account for the different events. (For general information about building a template for the Participants destination, please refer to our User Guide here.)


In order to create your template to import to more than one Event, you will need to keep the following in mind.


1) You must have a field in your data source that indicates which Event the Participant should be connected to.  This may be a page URL for the form that they registered under, a Form Name, etc.  Before building your template, identify this field.


2) If the field that identifies the Event that a Participant should be connected to matches the listings in Raiser's Edge exactly, you can map that field to the Event ID in the template.  If it does not, you will need to create Data Transformations to indicate to Importacular which Raiser's Edge Event should be connected to the data in the source (below you can see an example of working with a Form Name to map a file to the Event ID/Name in Raiser's Edge).



3) Please note that you may need to create additional Data Transformations in order to process all of the participants correctly. 


4) Make sure that you map all of the fields that are relevant to each of the Events.
