When adding a gift In Raiser's Edge a split is always added automatically. If you go to the split gift tab you will see a single split representing the whole gift. There is no need to add this split as it is always added for you.



If you want to split the gift in two you simply enter a new line on the split gift tab giving different values for the fund, campaign and/or appeal and a new gift split amount.



Similarly in Importacular you do not need to add a single split when adding a gift. You add a gift mapping with all the fields.



However, if you want to add a split gift consisting of two or more splits then all the split gift mappings need to be added.



For example, if you have a gift which consists of an event payment and a donation you may want to have one split with an event fund and one split for a general donation fund. In that case you create your gift mapping as usual with the combined amounts. You then create you event fund split followed by your general donation fund split. The mappings are shown below:




If you know that the split amounts should be divided by a percentage but do not know the exact amounts then you are also able to use the field setting functionality to specify a percentage of the incoming amount as shown below:
