You can access the functionality to work with Templates by going to File and selecting 'Manage Templates'.

Note: you can also access 'Manage Templates' by going to 'Help', then 'About Importacular',  clicking on 'Advanced' in the bottom left hand corner, then selecting 'Manage Templates'.

You will then be presented with your Manage Templates window:

The options to work with your templates are visible in the File dropdown.  To see a demo explaining these areas, click here.

To Import:

Press the import button, select the template file to import and press OK. This is now imported, the template will appear in the list and you can press the close button to close the window.

To Export:

Select the template.

If you are importing this template to be used on another system then tick the "Prepare for use as a default setting?" tick box.

If you are using this function as a backup of your templates and want to reimport in order to overwrite the existing template then untick this box.

Press Export and select a location and file name.

The template is now exported and you can press the close button to exit.

To Backup and Restore all templates:

This does the same as a single export except that you are backing up and restoring all of your templates and not just a single one. On restoring you will overwrite any existing template of the same name. You can learn more about restoring templates here.

To clone a template for use as a file based data source:

Select the template.

Press the Clone for File button. This will create a copy of the template that can be used for a File (CSV or Excel) data source. This is ideal when you have a control report, want to fix the exceptions and import them back into Raiser's Edge.

Delete:

You are able to delete a single template by selecting the template and pressing Delete. This can also be done from the template window itself.

Add to Defaults/Remove from Default:

Users are able to create Default templates to save specific settings to use with their specific data sources (defaults are specific to their respective data source).
