We would have loved to been able to bring up the rule when the address record is closed (or for that matter any other child record type e.g. notepad, proposal, etc). However RE does not, unfortunately, work like that. The trigger that tells Validatrix to bring up a message is only fired when a top level record is saved. In this case it is the constituent record. It could be a gift, a relationship, an action, a participant, etc. It is not fired when an address is closed.
